3D concept rendering by Vanessa GarciaOverview
Some rooms cannot be finished with catalog furniture. A dining table that seats twelve under a specific pendant, a media wall that hides equipment and frames a view, a reception desk that carries a brand: Gava Studio Design designs these pieces and details them for fabrication.
We work with woodworkers, metal shops, upholsterers, and stone fabricators in Florida and beyond, producing drawings and material specifications so the piece arrives as designed and fits the room it was made for.

What kinds of furniture does Gava Studio Design create?
Built-in millwork is the largest category: kitchen islands and cabinetry, wardrobes and closets, media walls, home offices, bar and wine displays, and bathroom vanities. Freestanding pieces include dining and coffee tables, consoles, beds and headboards, and upholstered seating designed around a particular plan.
For commercial clients we design reception desks, banquettes, host stands, display fixtures, and workstations that carry a brand's identity into the space and stand up to daily use.
Why custom furniture suits Treasure Coast homes
Open-plan homes and condos with glass walls leave few places for storage and a lot of exposure for every piece. Custom design solves both: storage disappears into millwork, and the visible pieces are scaled to the ceiling heights and views of the room rather than to a showroom floor.
Materials matter in a humid, salt-air climate. We specify finishes, veneers, hardware, and outdoor-rated fabrics that hold up on a covered lanai in Palm City or an oceanfront balcony on Hutchinson Island, and we detail joinery for stable performance under air conditioning.
- Pieces sized to real ceiling heights, window walls, and sightlines
- Integrated storage for open plans with little wall space
- Materials selected for humidity, salt air, and strong sun
- Coordination with the finish schedule so wood tones and metals match
How the furniture design process works
We begin from the space plan, identifying which pieces should be custom and which can be sourced. Each custom piece is sketched, then modeled in 3D in the room so proportion and material can be judged before anything is built. Our 3D visualization service makes this part of the same model used for the rest of the interior.
Once a design is approved, we prepare drawings and specifications for fabricators, review their shop drawings, approve finish samples, and verify dimensions on site. Fabrication is performed by independent shops; Gava Studio Design directs the design and coordinates delivery and installation with your contractor.
Furniture design for kitchens, offices, and hospitality
Kitchen islands and cabinetry are the most common custom work in our residential projects and are designed alongside countertops and appliances so every dimension reconciles. Home offices and studies benefit from purpose-built desks and shelving that keep cables and equipment out of view.
In restaurants, cafés, and offices, custom seating and fixtures set the room's rhythm and durability. We design them with cleaning, replacement, and code clearances in mind, and we coordinate with the commercial interior design scope so the furniture and the architecture agree.
Do you build the furniture yourselves?
No. Gava Studio Design designs and details each piece and coordinates with independent fabricators. You receive drawings and specifications and can use our recommended shops or your own.
Can custom furniture be designed for a condo with elevator and delivery limits?
Yes. We design pieces in sections sized for elevators, stairwells, and building delivery rules, and we plan assembly on site. This is a routine requirement in oceanfront towers on Hutchinson Island and Singer Island.
How long does custom furniture take?
Design typically takes a few weeks per piece; fabrication depends on the shop and materials and is confirmed when we request quotes. We sequence long-lead pieces early so they arrive with the rest of the installation.
