Interior design in Jupiter
Gava Studio Design is an interior design studio based in Stuart serving Jupiter, together with Jupiter Inlet Colony and Jupiter Farms. We design interiors for waterfront houses, club-community homes, newer construction and businesses along the Riverwalk and US-1, and we meet clients at the property, at showrooms and slab yards, or by video.
Jupiter sits at the mouth of the Loxahatchee River, where the river and the Intracoastal Waterway reach the Atlantic through the Jupiter Inlet, and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse stands on the inlet's north shore. The town incorporated in 1925 and had about 61,000 residents in 2020. Its housing runs from canal-front homes in Admirals Cove and club communities along the Intracoastal to the new-urbanist streets of Abacoa. West of the Turnpike, outside the town limits, lie the large rural lots of Jupiter Farms, and the small town of Jupiter Inlet Colony holds the tip of Jupiter Island across the inlet.
Neighborhoods and communities we serve in and around Jupiter:
- Admirals Cove

Waterfront and club-community homes
Much of east Jupiter is organized around water and golf. Admirals Cove, begun in the 1980s, is laced with canals that connect to the Intracoastal, and Jonathan's Landing sits among the town's Intracoastal waterways, with golf at its Village and Old Trail clubs. For houses of that era, we typically plan kitchens and family rooms that open to the water, larger primary suites, outdoor rooms oriented to the dock, and finishes selected for salt air, humidity and glare.
Where a community's association reviews exterior changes, we prepare the drawings and finish descriptions it asks for. Structural, window and dock work stays with licensed contractors and their permits, and our project direction service keeps the design and that permit path aligned.
- Kitchen and family-room remodels that face the dock and water
- Primary suites and baths rebuilt with humidity-tolerant finishes
- Covered terraces and outdoor kitchens planned with the interior
- Built-in storage for boating and fishing gear
Abacoa and newer neighborhoods
Abacoa, in the southwest corner of Jupiter, was started in 1997 on land from John D. MacArthur's estate and planned on new-urbanist lines, with a town center near Roger Dean Stadium and Florida Atlantic University's Wilkes Honors College. It was divided into neighborhoods that each carry their own architectural style, from Spanish Colonial Revival to Key West. In houses and townhomes this new, the work is less often about moving walls and more about built-ins, home offices, lighting, window treatments and furniture scaled to the rooms, designed to suit the style of the street.
We present these interiors in 3D so furniture sizes, finishes and lighting can be judged before anything is ordered, and our furniture design service details custom pieces for local fabricators.
Riverwalk, Harbourside Place and Inlet Village
Jupiter's commercial waterfront follows the Riverwalk, a planned 2.5-mile public path along the Intracoastal to the Jupiter Inlet, past Harbourside Place, with its hotel, offices, shops and restaurants, to Inlet Village on the inlet's south shore. The town zones Inlet Village for the compact scale of a small historic fishing village: buildings along the inlet are limited to one story, and two stories is the base height elsewhere in the district.
In the US-1 and Intracoastal Waterway corridor, the town code calls for coastal vernacular architecture, such as Cracker, shingle, Mediterranean, stick or craftsman styles, and the town reviews building and sign colors. We design restaurant, retail and office interiors that read well with those buildings, produce renderings for landlords and investors, and develop signage and brand identity when a business needs it.
Jupiter Inlet Colony, Jupiter Farms and the beach
Jupiter Inlet Colony is a separate town of about 400 residents on the southern tip of Jupiter Island, platted in 1958 and incorporated in 1959. On beachfront property there and in Jupiter, Palm Beach County's sea turtle protection rules apply, and a permit from the county's Environmental Resources Management division is required whenever a light source is replaced or installed within the Sea Turtle Protection Zone. We choose terrace and exterior fixtures with that review in mind.
West of the Turnpike, unincorporated Jupiter Farms was laid out by a water control district on a grid of canals and roads; most lots are about an acre and a quarter, and its zoning permits private stables. Its first houses went up in the late 1960s and early 1970s. On lots that size, a project can take in additions and outdoor rooms along with the interior, and permits go through Palm Beach County rather than the town.
Local rules and facts last checked September 2026. Confirm with your building department before you plan.
Do sea turtle lighting rules affect a Jupiter beachfront renovation?
They can. Jupiter's beachfront falls under Palm Beach County's sea turtle protection ordinance, administered by the county's Environmental Resources Management division, and a permit is required when a light source is replaced or installed in the protection zone. We plan terrace and exterior lighting to suit that review, and your licensed contractor handles the permit.
Can you design a restaurant or shop on the Riverwalk or in Inlet Village?
Yes. We design commercial interiors, produce renderings for landlord approval, and develop signage and branding. Buildings in the US-1 and Intracoastal corridor follow the town's coastal vernacular standards and color review, so we plan finishes and signage that sit well with those facades, while building permits and licensed work stay with your contractor.
Do you work in Jupiter Farms?
Yes. Jupiter Farms is unincorporated, so permits there go through Palm Beach County rather than the Town of Jupiter. With most lots around an acre and a quarter, projects can reach beyond the house, and we plan the interior, additions and outdoor living spaces together, from layout and kitchen to lighting and furniture.
